May 18, 2004--The Lesbian Chefs Association, launched in 2003, announced that it has expanded to become the Lesbian and Gay Chefs Association (LGCA). “Our community has such a wealth of talent to share,” said Paula Gray co-founder “it made sense to meet the demand of a wider member base”.

Members share technical culinary knowledge and basic kitchen "survival" skills, network, and find mentors. Benefits include access to: the Forums, Newsletter, Membership Directory, Job Board, and Business Resource Directory.

The first West Coast Chefs’ Retreat will be held July 16-18, 2004 in Lake Tahoe, California.

The LGCA is dedicated to serving the needs of culinary professionals and their employers by providing focused and strategic information, training and networking. The LGCA team continues to strive to identify, unify, support, and represent the global community of lesbian and gay chefs, cooks and students by utilizing state-of the-art the technologies such as online electronic publishing as well as the traditional methods of networking, conferences and seminars.
